Born in Sweden, Made for Beyond Expeditions

Nope, we aren’t referring to IKEA! Although they are commonly associated with Sweden, we’re talking about Fjällräven, the outdoor clothing and equipment brand that was birthed from the small town of Örnsköldsvik in Sweden, a place where mountains and forest meet the sea. 9620 kilometres away from its small town lies a boutique travel agency that is ready to bring you on the wildest adventures, we are Beyond Expeditions. So what does Fjällräven have to do with Beyond Expeditions? In fact, it has everything to do with us.

The love for the great outdoors! Travelling to uncharted regions means that you’ll get to immerse in diverse cultures and even stay in local villages, understanding the local people’s way of life. The locals utilise every single resource they can find in the natural environment they live in - from starting a fire with the dried animal dung collected to purifying water from a river source. Out in the wilderness, knowing basic survival skills is what often makes the difference between life and death. However, basic survival skills alone would not suffice. We’re here to share about the nitty gritty technical stuff, and how Fjällräven’s products have powered the Beyond Expeditions team whenever we are out of our office. In fact, the outdoor is our office! And nothing beats the security of having the best, durable and reliable outdoor gear when you’re out there in the wilderness!

Our favourite, the Singi Trekking Shirt, is made for the outdoors in both tropical and chilly climates. The outdoor shirt is fit for trekking and multifaceted outdoor life, whether you’re out chopping logs at our yurt camp or hiking up in the celestial mountains of Kyrgyzstan. It’s G-1000 original fabric feels soft against your skin and wicks away moisture fast, giving you maximum comfort in our tropical climate. Even when it gets too hot, any excess heat can be released through the ventilation openings right underneath the arms and the yoke around the back of the shirt. With two chest pockets and an arm pocket, adventurers can keep a pocket sized map, some pens and a compass while navigating their way to the next checkpoint on an expedition.
