GLAMPING In Singapore?! (Halloween Special)

If you miss travelling, feel trapped in Singapore, and are bored of going to the same old places…

How about going on a GLAMPING adventure on a tropical island by the sea?!

Enjoy the sea breeze, watch the coconut trees sway in the wind, and feel all your burdens lifting as you listen to the waves.

You don’t even have to leave Singapore to feel like you’ve already left.

THE B.E. GUIDE TO GLAMPING AT PULAU UBIN

To begin your day of adventure, take a ferry from Changi Ferry Terminal to Pulau Ubin.

There are two main campsites on Pulau Ubin you can choose from, Jelutong (which is nearer to the jetty) and Mamam (further away, but scenic and peaceful).

First, head off into the jungle to collect some fallen logs for firewood.

Then saw them up… and build a little stone-and-firewood stove. Get the fire going… and start cooking! Here we make deliciously simple smoky pesto pasta with crunchy greens!

We also rig up some tripods for boiling water and roasting over open fire… just in case any wild boars decide to visit.

Kidding! We’re vegetarians.

Then it’s hot chocolate, freshly brewed masala chai, and an afternoon of fun and laughter while carving our own chopsticks and spoons.

Why not carve fruits as well?! Scary capsicums and watermelons for a Halloween special.

As the sun sets, look back on an uplifting and refreshing day spent outdoors.

Everyone needs a detox sometimes. To step away from our digital devices and city burdens for just one day. To roam on a tropical island by the sea, a place where there is space for us to relax and be ourselves. To have delightful conversations among good company.

Leaving the campsite, we left a good bundle of firewood for the next adventurer.... will it be you?
