Our Team Conquered Bhutan's High-Altitude Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek (4,520m) with the Ultimate Outdoor Gear; Guess Which Brand Powered Our Adventure?
How do you tell if an outdoor gear truly delivers?
When it’s been tried and tested in the heart of wilderness.
Our BL8 participants, Christabel (participant in BL8) and Scott (founder of Beyond Expeditions), featuring some of LIVACTIV’s outdoor gear during this recent charity expedition that happened from 12th - 21st December, 2024.
In our latest charity expedition to Bhutan, we traversed ice-covered paths, rugged forest trails, and steep rocky inclines. The temperature was bone-chilling, the winds were gusty at night.
Our BL8 participants tackled a diverse range of terrains, each one bringing its own unique set of challenges. It was a huge test of their endurance, adaptability, and teamwork every step of the way.

Amidst everything, LIVACTIV — the official distributor of Gregory and Helly Hansen — had our participants' backs every step of the way.
If you’re a seasoned explorer, you already know: staying dry, comfortable, and unburdened by gear is key to enjoying the outdoors. It's not just about survival; it's about thriving in the wilderness.
With so many brands on the market, it’s easy to get lost in the noise. But here’s the thing… this isn’t a sales pitch. It’s real talk. We’ve put Gregory and Helly Hansen to the test in Bhutan, in the harshest conditions possible. This is how their gear performed, and we’re now going to show you why we trust it for every of our charity expeditions from now on.
A breathtaking shot of Jagay Tsho (Vulture Lake), captured by our talented team photographer, Ryan. During this charity trek, our participants witnessed the serene beauty of these incredible natural water bodies, all while outfitted in the trusted gear provided by LIVACTIV.
LIVACTIV’s gear was essential in keeping our team comfortable and focused, allowing us to stay fully dedicated to our mission and push towards the ultimate goal, all while soaking in the awe-inspiring views of Bhutan.

Gregory Technical Packs: Comfortable, Ergonomic, Trek-tastic.
As our team trekked through Bhutan's rugged mountains, the Gregory Paragon 48 proved itself as the unsung hero of our journey. Hiking up slippery ice paths and steep rocky hills, the pack’s advanced suspension system made a world of difference.
FreeFloat breathable suspension system.

Dual-density perforated shoulder harness.
Model: Scott, founder of Beyond Expeditions
This isn’t just about carrying weight; it’s about carrying it comfortably. Designed to evenly distribute the load, the dual-density perforated shoulder harness minimizes pressure points, so you can trek longer without that nagging shoulder strain. Whether you're tackling steep ascents or long stretches, this harness moves with you, offering breathable support that keeps you focused on the adventure, not the discomfort.
Adjustable torso length, 3D perforated foam back panel.
Model: Christabel, participant of Beyond Limits 8
The adjustable torso length and 3D perforated foam back panel work together to create a personalized, breathable fit that adapts to your body. No more one-size-fits-all discomfort; this design ensures your pack hugs you just right while allowing maximum airflow, so you stay cool and comfortable, even on the toughest, sweat-inducing ascents.

Whether you're navigating steep inclines or long stretches, this pack’s thoughtful ergonomic design makes sure comfort is never compromised.
Every step felt smoother as the ergonomic fit of the packs hugged our bodies, providing long-wear comfort even after hours of trekking (our participants climbed about 5-7 hours each day). The pack’s durable materials held up against the harsh conditions, showing no signs of wear as it faced the demands of Bhutan’s mountains and valleys. In those moments, when every ounce of comfort mattered, the Gregory pack truly lived up to its promise, allowing us to focus on the adventure ahead without being weighed down.

The Helly Hansen Men’s Daybreaker Fleece Jacket became a key layer during our trek through Bhutan’s unpredictable weather.
With its Polartec® fabric, it provided the perfect balance of warmth and breathability, ensuring we stayed comfortable during both the cool mornings and slightly warmer afternoons. The full YKK® coil zip allowed for easy ventilation when needed, while the YKK® zipped hand pockets kept small essentials safe and accessible. Lightweight yet functional, it proved to be the perfect mid-layer for unpredictable temperatures.
Plus, knowing it's made from recycled materials and certified as a bluesign® product made it an even more sustainable choice for our adventure. Whether on its own for a light chill or layered for extra warmth, this fleece was a constant companion throughout the journey.

Warm, soft, and effortlessly practical—this hoodie was a go-to layer for both adventure and relaxation.
